Patient Advocate
Introduction
As the Patient Advocate at UCSB, I understand just how committed our staff is to providing quality health care services to the campus community. We depend on our patients to communicate with us about their needs, concerns and make suggestions as we strive to improve our services to all students.
As the student liaison between Student Health staff and UCSB students, I urge you to take an active role in your health care. One way of doing this is by giving us feedback. There are many situations where I can be of assistance. For instance, there are times when a concern you have doesn't become evident until after the visit. Or, you may contact me before you come to Student Health because you don't know whom you should make an appointment with for your particular health concern. I can also help you to articulate your experience at Student Health so that it can better be resolved.
There are a number of ways to contact me. First, you can always call me 893-3191. My office is in the lobby at the Information Kiosk so you can stop by as well. You can also
email me
using the link on our web site. And while you're at Student Health, you can leave a written comment in one of four comment and suggestion boxes that are located throughout Student Health.
When leaving a comment, in order to resolve problems most effectively and represent your best interests, I'd like to encourage you to leave contact information. One of the most important aspects of my job here is to ensure complete confidentiality.
Once you contact me, I will look into your concern and collect as much information as possible. This step includes speaking with the appropriate Student Health Managers as well as Director. Once a concern is resolved, the outcome and further actions are always shared with the student affected.
I hope that your visits to Student Health are positive ones, and I look forward to hearing from you regarding all aspects of Student Health.
