Community Theater (DA 90) is a 3 unit class for students that have something to say. Students write and perform scripts about issues that matter most to them and their life at UCSB. The class gives the basics of college health issues like sexual health, alcohol use and stress management. Then students create scripts, get the word out, invite the audience and speak what's on their mind in performances that take the place of a typical final exam. Final registration is by application only. Applications are available on the first day of class.

Offered: Spring, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:50 in HSSB 1143, (summer commitment required)

Summer Theater (DA 91) is a 3 unit class that prepares actors for PAID summer performances for UCSB freshmen. Actors tell their personal stories along with a previously created script to give new students an idea of what to expect and how to protect themselves at UCSB. The class discusses the basic college health issues (like sexual health, alcohol use and stress management) and some helpful campus resources. There are up to 15 (PAID) summer performances which are required to take the spring class. Final registration is by application only. Applications are available on the first day of class.
