Education 191 B: Alcohol and Drugs: Party Culture at UCSB
Offered: Winter and spring, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:50 in Student Health Classroom 1
Alcohol and Drugs: Party Culture at UCSB (Education at 191 B) is a 4 unit class where students get to know more aobut themselves, how to help others, and learn the basics of alcohol and other drugs (from nicotine and marijuana to caffeine, cocaine and more) including the role college party cultures plays in a healthy lifestyle. The class prepares you to be a
STAR (Students Teaching Alcohol & other drug Responsibilty) Intern
by teaching you public speaking, communication, how to help a friend, how to be a good listener, and when to refer to professional staff. The class size is kept small which encourages discussion and debate. Registration is by application only. Applications are available on the 1st day of class. Student who do well in the class are encouraged to apply to be a member of
