Missed/Late Appointments
Home : Forms and Policies : Missed Appointments
If a patient arrives more than five minutes late for a 15 minute appointment or ten minutes late for a 30 minute appointment but still within the appointment slot, the practitioner will be called and given the option to see the patient or to request that the patient reschedule. Whether or not the patient is seen, there will be no charge.
If a patient arrives after his appointment slot has ended, the appointment will be considered missed and a missed appointment charge will be assessed whether or not the patient is seen. The practitioner will still be called to decide if s/he wishes to see the patient.
If a patient is unhappy or wishes to dispute the policy further, s/he can complete the “Fee Waiver” Form which is located in each of the clinics or in Administration. The Fee Waiver Form should not automatically be given. Diana Alvarado, the budget officer, will make the final decision and contact the student by mail with the outcome.
During finals week we will not charge for missed appointments in medical clinics. Dental Clinic and Eye Clinic continue to charge for missed appointments during finals week.
