Impaired Provider

If a Provider becomes impaired while on the job and cannot perform his/her duties, the Director or Medical Director and Clinical Director must be immediately notified.

The Director or Medical Director will assess the Provider’s condition. If the impairment is due to a medical condition or illness, the assessment will determine if 911 needs to be called or Provider’s emergency contact for further medical care. Student Health will provide appropriate medical care until transportation is available.

If the impairment is due to any other situation or condition, the Director or Medical Director will call the Human Resources Labor Relations contact person for direction.

The Clinical Director will re-direct patient care to minimize impact on students.
