Information regarding the physical
and mental health of students is confidential, released only with the student's
permission. This information is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996, or HIPAA which includes a privacy rule that creates
national standards to protect the confidentiality of an individual's personal health
information.
