Why won't you tell me what's wrong with my student?
Confidentiality laws and HIPAA regulations prohibit us from sharing information about your child with you without the student's written consent, even if you pay the medical bills! If your son or daughter gives us permission to discuss care given, we will gladly speak with you.
Can my child make their own appointment with a specialist at UCSB?
Yes, if it is a specialist with in Student Health. If you have SHIP, the referral must be made by a practitioner.
My child needs a dentist. What should they do?
The Student Health Dental Care provides a full range of general dentistry services.
My child's allergist won't give me their serum; they want to send it to you: What do I do? They can send it to:

Attn: Antigen Clinic Please make sure refrigeration requirements are clearly labeled. Student Health is not open on weekends so the package must arrive M-F, 8am-4:30pm.
When are you open?
While school is in session, Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; Wednesdays 9:00am-4:30pm;
Thursday8:00am - 7:00pm. We are closed on holidays and hours vary during quarter breaks.
What does Student Health do?
Student Health provides primary care for acute injuries as well as long term management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma. Auxiliary clinical services include lab, x-ray, physical therapy, optometry and pharmacy. Please refer to other sections of this website for more details.
