Travel Immunizations
If you are planning to study abroad, participate in research, or travel to a developing country, you are encouraged to utilize our travel clinic services. A pre-travel appointment at the travel clinic should be made 6-9 weeks prior to departing, if possible. Several vaccines need to be given at intervals in order to avoid adverse interactions and to provide adequate protection. During times of peak demand it may take up to 4 weeks to get an appointment with the Travel Clinic.
Note: When you schedule your appointment, please inform our staff of every country that you are planning to visit and be certain to bring your immunization records.
Services offered to travelers include:
Personalized Medical Counseling: Advice and medical care for travelers based on each person's individual health needs and travel itinerary.
Immunizations: Immunizations and vaccines (i.e., meningitis, rabies, oral typhoid) needed for travel abroad and health maintenance.
Validated Records: An official World Health Organization immunization record (yellow book) and the necessary validations needed to travel to many countries.
Prescriptions: Medications for diarrhea, malaria, and other ailments that travelers commonly encounter. Prescriptions may be filled in our pharmacy or at the traveler's regular pharmacy.
Educational Literature: Brochures and booklets are available on travel information.
